Homemade BBQ Sauce for Less than .50 Cents

By richel on April 12th, 2013

BBQ SAuce

I love BBQ Chicken.  Chop it up on salads, make BBQ chicken sandwiches, make BBQ chicken Kebobs, make….okay you get the idea!  The other day on Pinterest, I ran across a recipe for Homemade BBQ sauce that tastes pretty much like the “Sweet Baby Rays” BBQ sauce.  The cool thing you can make it at home with stuff you might already have.

After making it, I realized how cheap it was to make.  Since I just grabbed a bunch of bottles of ketchup for a steal at Kmart….well this seemed like a sweet deal for all the BBQ-ing we will be doing.

Make this for less than .50 cents for a  8 1/2 ounce jar!

Fun 2B Frugal BBQ Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups ketchup
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice or you can sub apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon worchestire sauce
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons ground mustard
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/8 cold water mixed with 1 tablespoon corn starch (optional)
  1. Combine all the ingredients together except the water and corn starch mixture in a medium size sauce pot. Bring to a boil and reduce and simmer for five minutes or until all the sugar has dissolved. If you like a thicker BBQ Sauce add the water and corn starch mixture. Simmer until desired thickness is reached, but watch closely. It thickens really fast! Serve immediately or cover and store in fridge.

You can store this is a bottle or in a canning jar.  It also make a awesome gift!

Hot Clearance Deals at Target

By richel on April 11th, 2013

clearance

I just love clearance times at Tar-jay!  They are the best for cool deals.  I love to stock up on stuff and fill my kids closets with deals for the summer.  Right now lots of Circo sock packs, booties, headbands, sock grippers and leggings were spotted on clearance as much as 30% off and as low as .70 cents.

Super Cute bibs were at 70% , down to $2.98 and Carters Just for One infant 3-piece sets at 30% off down to $11.18.

That wonderful 20% Off Select Infant items Target Coupon x4/27 is valid on Bedding, Toys, Layette, Nursery Item or Accessory, Furniture or Sleepwear, so be sure to have it on you when checking out the baby clearance to make for some really nice deals.

This is awesome!  I already snagged a ton of size 9 months stuff for my new nephew (due in May) and have backed them away in the Christmas gifts to give box!

By richel on April 11th, 2013

flip flop 1flip flop 2

Right now you can score a great deal on flip flops at Kmart.  Look for this both online (while supplies last) and in store.  I just visited the local Kmart last night and they had tons of these.  If you are a crafty person, these are awesome to decorate!

So the deal is hot right now so hurry! Kmart has several flip flops on sale, starting at just $0.99! Head on over to Kmart and type in the name of the sandals below in the search box, then click “Search” to find the perfect pair!

Browse through all the flip flops by typing “flip flops” in the search bar. Then sort the items from lowest to highest price. This will give those that are .99 cents.  Then you can choose to ship them (not the best deal) or pick them up in store.

When you do this, basically and employee acts as your personal shopper and picks up the items and holds them for you at the layaway desk.  You just head in and pick them up!  It is super easy!  I used this service for some of my Christmas shopping and it was wonderful!
