My FUN Life: When I Grow Up…
As a child you always got the ‘adult’ question of “What do you want to be when you grow up?”. Or, “What do you want to do when you grow up?”. Most of us always gave the generic answer of being a fire fighter, police officer, doctor, or lawyer. Occasionally, someone would say something FUN like a rock star or movie star. For me it changed all the time. I went from wanting to be a ventriloquist and changed my answer later in life to a real estate agent until the market quickly fell. Now, in real time, I’m just a mom. Plain ole mama!
For those of you who are moms, you know there is nothing ‘plain’ about being a mom. It’s an adventure every second you are awake. Not awake. Alive. It’s an adventure every second you are alive! One minute you could be having FUN playing peek-a-boo and the next you are washing snot out of your hair because your child used it as a tissue. You know what I’m talking about!
Speaking of tissue, I want to share what my lovely daughter wants to do when she grows up! As most of you moms know, after changing diapers comes the lovely job of wiping booties! At least there’s no more diaper cost and full on changing. And at least your husband has taught the kids what a ‘courtesy flush’ is; right? So, in all reality when your daughter calls you to wipe her butt, it’s not so bad because at least it’s not a diaper and she should be able to wipe it herself soon enough. But when is soon enough? As I am beckoned to her call one day, I get there and decide to show her how to do it herself. I even have her practice a few times. She did it! Now she knows how! I was so excited! However, she was not as excited as I was. She immediately informed me that she still wanted someone to wipe her because she doesn’t like it. Well, nobody likes it! She then went on and said,”When I grow up mommy, I want to wipe my own butt”. Well, isn’t that nice. She knows what she wants to do when she grows up!

My FUN Life: Crapped Up Lips
As some of you may know, my family and I moved out west. We came from hot and humid to cold and dry. Very dry. So, dry, that my first order of business when we arrived was to fill my stockpile up with lotion. I must say, that task is coming along quite nicely!
Anyways, I am constantly putting lotion on my dry hands and using chap stick on my chapped lips. Launa, my four year old daughter has noticed this and must always get her fair share when I whip out the Lip Smackers. The other day we were driving somewhere and I had just freshened my lips with the stuff when Launa says,”Mom, my lips are all crapped up!” I was confused and asked what in the world she was talking about. Again, she says,” my lips are all crapped up!” I asked her what she wanted me to do about her ‘crapped up lips’ and she said she wanted the chap stick! “Oh! You mean you lips are chapped!” “No mom, the are crapped up.”
Hahaha! Now, usually I try to correct them when they pronounce something wrong, but sometimes it’s FUN to enjoy their version of things for a little while. So, I guess I will have crapped up lips throughout this cold winter! ;)
Introducing My FUN Life!
This video says it all, but in case you haven’t noticed, there is a new section on the website! It’s called My FUN Life. You can find it at the top right of the purple header right above the coupon girls head. It basically a small section where I want to share FUN stories with everyone. If you have small kids or you have been around them, then you know the stuff they say or come up with can be pretty hilarious.
Over time, as I add stories or sayings from my life, I want you, the reader, to share your stories as well. When they start flowing in, I will designate a certain day of the week to share them. I think it will be a FUN part of the site where we can all relate in some way or another!
