Extreme Couponing Premiere On TLC Tonight

By Extreme Couponing Rudy on May 28th, 2012

TLC’s Extreme Couponing Season 3 comes out tonight!  Weather you are new to couponing or have been using coupons for a long time, if you can I want you to watch it.  There are many mixed emotions when it comes to this show.  In the beginning the show didn’t seem so bad.  Then the episodes started getting more and more ridiculous.  People started buying 100 bottles of mustard to put in their own personal stockpile.  Couponers would clear the shelves on things they don’t eat or use.  Then of course it was followed by ‘Hoarders’.  That really set fire to the show.

You are probably thinking as you watch the show that your store would never allow you to do a trip like they do.  Spend ten hours in the store shopping and then another three hours in line.  That’s crazy right?!  Yes, it is.  Keep in mind as you watch the show these stores have bent their rules.  They are allowing certain things to be done and some rules to be broken for store promotion purposes.  No, it’s not fair that they portray that they will accept 100 ‘like’ coupons in one transaction, or that they have no limit on the amount of coupons they will double.

As you watch the show tonight listen for the ‘Extreme Couponers’ to say, “this is the biggest haul I’ve ever done”, or “I didn’t bring that much money with me today”.  Like most things on T.V., anything can be staged.  Clips are taken out and added in certain places.  They show things out of context.

If you already use coupons and feel satisfied with what you are saving, don’t let this show make you feel like what you are doing isn’t good enough.  The purpose of coupons are not to clear the shelves. In fact, most of the people who are on the show probably have to run back to the store that same week to get products that will actually feed their family.  The show is exactly what it states in the name, EXTREME.  These people are planning an extreme haul, the biggest they’ve ever done.  They aren’t trying to feed the family for the week, they are competing with the show!

If you are new to couponing, don’t expect to walk in the store and do what the show displays.  Not everything in life is FREE, even if yo uhave a coupon.  Don’t expect to never pay for anything again.  I’m not saying you can’t save up to 90% on your grocery bill.  You can!  Just probably not every week!

Watch the show tonight and them come back and let’s chat about what we watched!
