Angry Birds Birthday Party Activities

Angry Birds Birthday Party

Okay, I kinda flaked on the Angry Birds Birthday Party posts.  I’m back and ready to finish!  What’s a party without games?  Well, more games that is!  You have to have several different activities going on at once when having a younger age party because they get antsy fast.  They can’t wait in line forever and, let’s face it, they don’t love to share, especially when it comes to something new and FUN!  I already showed you our BIG game piece of the party with the Angry Birds Slingshot.  Now, it’s time for more!

Angry Birds Birthday Party Day 4: More Games

1. Can the Piggies.  This game is a very simple one to create.  It’s your basic ‘knock the cans over’ game, but of course you need to make sure it flows with the theme of the party!  In this case, I decided to make the cans green piggies.

Just save up a few cans and grab some green spray paint.  Go to town!  This is the green I had on hand, you know I like to be frugal and cut costs, but you can go lighter if you prefer.  Let those dry and then grab some white paint and a black Sharpie.

For some reason I can’t the closeup up the piggies, but you get the idea.  Paint the eyes white, let that dry and then draw everything else with the Sharpie.  If time permits (which mine did not) you can get more creative and use more colors with more details.  Paint the nose a separate green, get crazy with the mouths.  Have FUN with it!

This game was a hit!  No pun intended ;)

2. Pin the beak on the Angry Birds.  This game is a twist on the ole fashion Pin the Tail on the Donkey!  At this age, that game is always a must!

Basically get a piece of poster board for each bird you want to make.  In my case I did the Yellow Angry Bird and the Red Angry Bird.  (Well, I should say my mom did!)  Then just cut out the shape of the Angry Birds, for the yellow it was a big triangle and for the red it was a big circle.  Use construction paper to put the facial features together.  Once you have the main piece created (as shown) you will need to make extra beaks.  If you use a template for the main piece and print it out, then you can do the same for all 20 something beaks you will need for the party.  It’s better than drawing and cutting out each extra beak by hand.

Don’t forget about the blindfolds!  Come on, we’ve been creative with everything else. You didn’t seriously think we’d use an old rag for this game did you? My mom also did a great job constructing these Black Angry Bird eye masks.  Simply take a piece of black felt, cut it the shape of a regular eye mask.  The felt is a really good option for kids.  Even though it’s black, they are still not completely blind when putting it on.

Then cut out two white circles, again using felt.  Hot glue them for the eyes. Cut out a beak using yellow felt, and again, glue it on the mask.  She also used a brown felt for the eyebrows.  Once all those are glued on you can grab that black Sharpie from before, and draw on the details.  She also used black felt for the feather sticking out.  That piece is actually doubled using two pieces of felt making it sturdy so it would stay sticking up.

This was also another hit!  By having several different games, it doesn’t cause anyone to stand around too much.  Everyone was constantly moving and having FUN!

I also wanted to mention the Angry Birds coloring books pictured at the top of this post.  Those were created by using an Angry Birds template.  I printed out the faces and used the FREE folders I scored during all the back to school sales.  For the pages inside I jsut printed Angry Birds coloring pages.  The crayons were also collected during the back to school sale season for only $0.25 per pack!  Isn’t it FUN 2B Frugal?!
